I provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for mental health challenges to promote well-being, abundant living, and optimum functioning in work and relationships.
I am a Christian, husband, father, and medical doctor serving our community in both private psychiatry practice and biblical counseling ministry.

I want you to know there is help for you.
I am a trained medical doctor (MD), having graduated from medical school, board certified from The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and can prescribe medication, BUT...
I will work with you to create a treatment plan just for you, using conventional medicine or alternative methods
Your evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment stay private. Your insurance company will not be notified because I won't involve them.
You can choose in-person appointments or secure and private Telehealth appointments.
You will discover how to feel better, restored, and full of passion--ready to serve the Lord as the first day you were called.
About Me
My passion is putting faith into practice by providing compassionate mental health care and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals and biblical counselors to excel in clinical knowledge, skill and compassion for patients and neighbors. I fulfill this calling in private practice (Guthrie Psychiatry), as a volunteer psychiatrist at the Mel Leaman Free Clinic in Marion, VA and with His Right Mind Ministries.
